A minimum of any 6 bottles is required for each winery you purchase from. We also require bottles to be purchased in increments of 6 as wines are packed and shipped in 6-bottle cases
The Squitchy Lane Cabernet Blend is based on the classic reds of Bordeaux and is crafted from a blend Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Since they were planted in 1982 the vineyards at Squitchy Lane have demonstrated that are very well suited to the production of these classic Bordeaux varieties. The individual grape varieties are hand-harvested and fermented separately before aging in French oak. Once the wines are completed the winemaker assesses each barrel and decides the final blend.

| Reviews | Cabernet blends are making a comeback and I am here for it. Especially with cooler climate examples of Cabernet that make perfectly medium-bodied food-friendly wines like this example from the Yarra Valley. Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 61 Cabernet Franc 23 and Merlot 15 from 40 year old vines. The aromas open with boysenberries and violets a gentle swirl revealing liquorice allsorts and spicy pink peppercorns. A glimpse of the way it will evolve with cellaring is apparent in subtle notes of leaf tobacco and new leather. In the mouth it is supple and medium bodied with bright juicy cranberries and early-summer cherries. Oak adds a subtle nutmeg spice whilst allowing the fruit to shine through. Each grape variety provides a different character and is vital to the overall balance of the finished wine Cabernet Sauvignon gives structure and power Merlot provides the roundness on the mid-palate and Cabernet Franc adds the spicy lifted notes to the finish.The wine is a bright ruby colour with purple hints. On the palate the wine is lush medium-bodied with layers of flavour including black plums blueberry black forest cake and hints of spice chocolate and oak.

The wine was delivered by GSO Courier early this am and was in perfect shipping condition. The bottle temperature was cool to the touch which is amazing given we have been hitting 37C every day for the last week here in our California summer.

I have put the wine into our temperature controlled bottle storage to let them rest for a week (mostly for the 3 bottles of red). I did put one of the Rosés in the frig which we will try tomorrow because we are out to dinner tonight with friends.
Your Rose of Virginia is my favorite rosé, above French and Californians that we have consumed with Tablas Creek “Dianthus” from near Paso Robles being a second.
Now that we have experienced a shipment from you, I am sure we will order a couple of cases more but will wait until weather is cooler for us and the wine.
