Aromatic and poised, the 2021 Lady A opens with notes of white jasmine, almond meal, and stonefruit underpinned by subtle toasty oak. The palate is rich and textural, featuring bright toffee, poached pear, vanilla and apricot. The mouthfeel is velvety while a mineral saline edge and focused acidity provide structure, leading to a long, vibrant finish with lingering tropical and candied pineapple notes. Reviews	Domaine A Lady A 2021 shows a rich aromatic nose with smoky and herbal notes leading to a broad textured palate. A Sauvignon Blanc of real character and depth made to enjoy with food and built to last. Jancis Robinson Jancis Robinson 1720.Deep yellow colour showing considerable age. The bouquet is very complex and shows matured lemon curd honey vanilla buttered toast and discreet ripe herbal aromas. A really complex aged wine very rich and concentrated in the mouth with an amazing array of flavours honey nougat peanut brittle toffee and spice added to the list. The finish is totally satisfying. Complex and long of flavour with tones of lemon curd guava and feijoa on a base of crushed riverstone. Theres all sorts of stuff going on. Sandalwood galangal ginger whey clover blossom and pressed citrus blossom you expect it to be more flavoursome but it dekes you and sails stony savoury and snow-melt pure on rails of marble-like acidity. Winemakers Notes

The Lady Aa big rich opulent oaked sauvignonhas always had a cult following. With Peters winemaking the wine would normally have 100 new oak. In 2018 however record-breaking yields at Stoney vineyard meant we didnt have enough new oak for the full vintage and were forced to use less for the Lady A. I was pleased with the results though and opted to only use 80 from then on so youll see less overt oak influence in this wineas well as a push from my end for the wine to hold less residual sugar than past years. We also did extensive lees stirring to ensure the mouthfeel has volume and ensure a full palate. The warm year gives this release a very intense and ripe fruit spectrum. As its drinking very youthfully at present this wine will cellar for at least a decade. Optimum drinking time depends on how toasty and rich you like your Lady A.
