2019 Cape Grace Wines Reserve Basket Pressed Cabernet Sauvignon

In 1996, Robert and Karen Karri-Davies planted their 15-acre vineyard on the headwaters of the Wilyabrup Valley, managed under sustainable practices from the outset. Since then, Cape Grace has been dedicated to producing consistently high-quality, single-vineyard wines that reflect both site and season, earning multiple James Halliday star ratings over the years. Handcrafted with patience and care, and basket pressed using traditional methods, our wines capture the character and flavours of the unique Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River and its exceptional growing conditions. All estate-grown fruit is vinified on site, allowing complete control from grape to bottle. Minimal intervention, alongside strict temperature and hygiene regimes, ensures each variety can express its natural flavour profile. Our red wines are gently hand plunged, basket pressed, and matured in French oak barriques for 12–18 months. Following extensive barrel tastings and blending trials, the final selection is carefully assembled, gently fined and bottled. Often described as one of Margaret River’s “great little wineries,” Cape Grace has been rewarded with three trophies, more than 175 medals, and consistently strong critical acclaim. The winery has previously featured in James Halliday’s Ten of the Best New Wineries and is currently rated a 4-Star Winery in the Halliday Wine Companion.
