For tens of thousands of years, the Swan Valley was home to the indigenous Whadjuk Noongar people, whose rich cultural and historical heritage still resonates today. The Erceg family has quickly established themselves as a significant player in the Western Australian wine industry. Their passion for winemaking and commitment to quality is evident in the boutique range of premium wines produced at Mandoon Estate. The estate acquired the historic 'Roe Family property' in Caversham, Swan Valley, which has a historical heritage that dates back to 1840. The word "Mandoon" itself is derived from the Noongar language, meaning "place of many trees," and was chosen by the Erceg family as a tribute to the traditional owners of the land. Mandoon Estate continues to showcase the potential of the Swan Valley as a significant wine-producing region. Senior Winemaker Ryan Sudano oversees the production of wines from well-preserved, low-yielding single vineyard sites in the Swan Valley and other prominent Western Australian regions, using traditional winemaking methods that highlight the varietal and regional characteristics of their wines Mandoon Estate partners with local Aboriginal businesses and organizations to celebrate and preserve the Noongar culture and traditions.
