Nestled in the Lyndoch sub-region of Barossa Valley our Vineyard Selection Shiraz artfully harmonises fruit from distinct blocks. Block 7s heavy red clay loam delivers power and structure while Block 5s sandy clay loam contributes vibrant fruit intensity. Through cool fermentation and carefully timed cap pumping this natural interplay of terroirs crafts an enchanting Barossa Shiraz celebrating the diversity within our single vineyard.

We have aromas of dried herbs blackcurrants smoked meats spices plums and mushrooms.There is good underlying power here though the length at this stage can best be described as medium.A soft and seductive texture with fine tannins there is plenty to like with this delicious wine but for it to go to the next level it does need a touch more length.Enjoy it over the next 47 years. Tasting Notes
Deep and intense ruby red. Blackberry and black plum fruits spice and pepper aromas with undertones of charcuterie and oak. The palate is dark and brooding with black plum and berry fruits soft tannins with a long spicy and savoury finish.
Winemakers Notes
This 2022 vintage presents a vibrant expression of punchy red fruit on the nose with spicy cherry notes and a savoury complexity reminiscent of beef stock and a hint of bloody character. The mid-palate delivers excellent black-fruited intensity with a raspberry-driven finish. What sets this wine apart is its focused mid-palate structure showcasing beautifully textural tannins and a precise acid line that carries through to the finish providing excellent backbone and ageing potential.

The wine was delivered by GSO Courier early this am and was in perfect shipping condition. The bottle temperature was cool to the touch which is amazing given we have been hitting 37C every day for the last week here in our California summer.

I have put the wine into our temperature controlled bottle storage to let them rest for a week (mostly for the 3 bottles of red). I did put one of the Rosés in the frig which we will try tomorrow because we are out to dinner tonight with friends.
Your Rose of Virginia is my favorite rosé, above French and Californians that we have consumed with Tablas Creek “Dianthus” from near Paso Robles being a second.
Now that we have experienced a shipment from you, I am sure we will order a couple of cases more but will wait until weather is cooler for us and the wine.
