Tasting Notes
COLOURPale straw with a subtle green tingeNOSEPerfumed and lifted showing an abundance of white peach and very subtle apricot.PALATEIt is very generous fleshy and seamless. An attractive seductive Chardonnay style with sweet fruit on the mid-palate and a generous persistent lingering finish with balanced acidity.
Winemakers Notes
74 of this wine is sourced from the Wylco Vineyard in the Karridale subregion approximately 20 kilometres south of Margaret River. The fruit is from Block 3 planted on lighter soils with a northerly aspect and eastwest rows. This block typically produces more generous and forward wines compared to other blocks on the site. The remaining 26 of the blend comes from Blocks 7 and 13 of the Wills Domain Vineyard. Harvest dates were late January for the Wills Domain blocks and the second week of February for the more southern Wylco fruit. All fruit was hand-picked and chilled overnight before being whole-bunch pressed and racked to barrel with a modest level of natural solids. Fermentation was carried out with natural yeasts and after fermentation the wine was matured in barrel for a further eight months before being fined filtered and bottled in December.

The wine was delivered by GSO Courier early this am and was in perfect shipping condition. The bottle temperature was cool to the touch which is amazing given we have been hitting 37C every day for the last week here in our California summer.

I have put the wine into our temperature controlled bottle storage to let them rest for a week (mostly for the 3 bottles of red). I did put one of the Rosés in the frig which we will try tomorrow because we are out to dinner tonight with friends.
Your Rose of Virginia is my favorite rosé, above French and Californians that we have consumed with Tablas Creek “Dianthus” from near Paso Robles being a second.
Now that we have experienced a shipment from you, I am sure we will order a couple of cases more but will wait until weather is cooler for us and the wine.
