| Reviews | YOUNG GUN OF WINE DEEP DIVE AUSTRALIAS BEST ROSE Spain included this wine in her top six wines on the day calling it a bit of a sleeper agent here with a very understated and delicate nose. In a line-up featuring some very strongly perfumed wines it was really nice to find something that has an unstated purity about it. The nose shows the most subtle hints of fresh red cherry rosehip and honeysuckle and on the palate these notes are juxtaposed with a lovely tart rhubarb and cranberry note that balances the fruit sweetness. The minerality and texture of this wine make the palate very moreish and inviting. A perfect example of the virtues of purity over concentration. Pair with friends although maybe a washed-rind cheese wouldnt go astray either. |

This rose is all about capturing Grenache at its most expressive. Night harvesting preserves freshness while careful maceration allows us to dial in colour and flavour. A small portion fermented in French oak adds texture and complexity without overpowering the fruit. The result is a rose that is vibrant refreshing and far more than just a pretty face.

The wine was delivered by GSO Courier early this am and was in perfect shipping condition. The bottle temperature was cool to the touch which is amazing given we have been hitting 37C every day for the last week here in our California summer.

I have put the wine into our temperature controlled bottle storage to let them rest for a week (mostly for the 3 bottles of red). I did put one of the Rosés in the frig which we will try tomorrow because we are out to dinner tonight with friends.
Your Rose of Virginia is my favorite rosé, above French and Californians that we have consumed with Tablas Creek “Dianthus” from near Paso Robles being a second.
Now that we have experienced a shipment from you, I am sure we will order a couple of cases more but will wait until weather is cooler for us and the wine.
