A fresh, textural McLaren Vale Fiano that showcases both the variety’s Italian heritage and its exciting future in Australia, this wine reflects the balance of tradition and place. Traditionally grown on volcanic soils at elevation, Fiano is prized for producing fine, mineral-driven wines with natural fruit weight and, importantly, its ability to retain freshness and acidity even in warmer climates.Grown on Terra Rossa over limestone soils just 5km from the coast, our vineyard benefits from cooling sea breezes and limestone influence. The original vines were planted by the family in 2019, and after seeing how well the variety performed, a second block was established, bringing our total plantings to eight acres. Naturally low yielding, Fiano delivers concentration and quality, while its thick skins and loose bunches make it relatively easy to manage in the vineyard.Hand-harvested in the early morning, the fruit is gently pressed with just 45 minutes of skin contact, enough to build subtle phenolic texture without weighing the palate down, before being fermented in small batches to preserve purity and shape. The result is a vibrant, savoury-fruited wine with notes of stone fruit and citrus, lifted freshness, fine structure and a gently textural, mouth-filling finish that favours drinkability over weight.
