The 2020 Mt Charles Shiraz is an intense muscular red that showcases the full strength and character of the Becker vineyard owned and farmed within the Hoffmann family. Deep and concentrated on the nose it delivers dark fruit chocolate and warm spice leading into a rich full-bodied palate layered with ripe fruit firm tannins and bold oak influence. Dense generous and unapologetically expressive it continues to open and reveal complexity in the glass finishing long warm and commanding. Crafted to highlight the vineyards natural power while maintaining balance it represents the Mt Charles style at its fullest expression. The 2020 Mt Charles release is a powerhouse expression from the Becker vineyard delivering deep concentrated aromatics of dark fruit chocolate and warm spice. The palate is rich full and enveloping with layers of ripe fruit supported by bold oak influence and a long warming finish. Generous dense and unapologetically expressive this is a wine that fills the senses and continues to reveal complexity as it opens. A commanding Barossa red with impressive longevity and drive.

The wine was delivered by GSO Courier early this am and was in perfect shipping condition. The bottle temperature was cool to the touch which is amazing given we have been hitting 37C every day for the last week here in our California summer.

I have put the wine into our temperature controlled bottle storage to let them rest for a week (mostly for the 3 bottles of red). I did put one of the Rosés in the frig which we will try tomorrow because we are out to dinner tonight with friends.
Your Rose of Virginia is my favorite rosé, above French and Californians that we have consumed with Tablas Creek “Dianthus” from near Paso Robles being a second.
Now that we have experienced a shipment from you, I am sure we will order a couple of cases more but will wait until weather is cooler for us and the wine.
