The 2012 Hoffmann Family Vineyards Dallwitz Old Vine Centennial release is a monumental expression of fruit planted on the Dallwitz Block in 1912 offering profound depth maturity and enduring power. Now beautifully evolved it opens with dark berries dried plum fruitcake spice and savoury earth layered seamlessly with tertiary notes of leather tobacco leaf and warm spice. The palate is rich dense and commanding driven by concentrated old-vine fruit fine-grained tannins and remarkable length. Crafted in partnership between Adrian Hoffmann and Chris Ringland the wine underwent small-batch ferments and gentle extraction before spending five years in new French oak and extended time in bottle allowing the vineyards character to shine with clarity. Bold expressive and built for longevity this centennial release remains a defining interpretation of the Dallwitz Block. It pairs superbly with slow-roasted lamb braised beef chargrilled ribeye venison and aged cheeses.

Reviews	A special release celebrating the 100th anniversary of vines planted on the Hoffmann Family Vineyards property in 1912. Vigneron Adrian Hoffmann with winemaking collaborator Chris Ringland have great confidence in the ageing of such muscly Shiraz and with 12 years under its belt now this is all the proof they need the wine is in fabulous shape.The nose is typical of long slow-ripening Shiraz swirling with intense aromas crushed blue and black berries and baked fruit cake. Time has added harmony and complexity allowing tertiary elementsleather tobacco leaf and warm spiceto weave through the concentrated core of fruit. The palate remains powerful and densely structured with refined fine-grained tannins and remarkable length. Rich enveloping and gracefully evolved this wine still carries the depth and drive that define the Dallwitz Block offering a seamless balance between maturity and enduring strength.

Winemakers Notes

This centennial release honours vines planted on the Hoffmann Familys Dallwitz Block in 1912. A classic partnership between Adrian Hoffmann guiding vine selection and vineyard expression and Chris Ringland shaping structure and longevity through winemaking this wine reflects the very best of old-vine Barossa fruit. Barrel selection was a shared process drawing on the vineyards natural concentration to craft a wine built for decades of ageing. After small open ferments cold soak and gentle pump-overs the wine matured for five years in new French oak followed by extended bottle ageing before release. This approach allows the vineyards historyand its remarkable fruitto speak clearly through the glass.
