A minimum of any 6 bottles is required for each winery you purchase from.
We were blessed with near perfect growing conditions in Margaret River in 2020. A warmer than usual Spring, a dry, sunny summer and cool nights. Significant diurnal temperature variations meant perfect ripening conditions across all of our dry grown vineyards. No disease and virtually no bird pressure (particularly at the start of harvest) meant we were able to pick beautifully clean fruit at ideal ripeness and flavour levels ... a real treat for our winemaking team. The only downside was exceptionally low yields across all varieties. Our dry farmed vineyard responded to the drier seasonal conditions by producing tiny and light bunches with small berries. Tasting Notes
The 2020 season produced dense and structured Cabernet Sauvignon with intense aromas of black berries bay leaf savoury olive tapenade and warm earth undertones. The palate shows impressive upfront concentration with notes of cassis dark cocoa dust and graphite all supported by a framework of firm but finely woven tannins. A benchmark expression of southern Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon-elegant complex and age-worthy.
Winemakers Notes
Sourced from a small gravelly block within Hazels Vineyard the fruit was harvested and gently transferred by gravity into four-tonne open stone fermenters. Fermentation was driven by native yeasts indigenous to the site with gentle extraction carried out over three weeks on skins. The wine was then pressed to French oak barriques 40 of which were new and matured in our cool underground cellars for 16 months prior to bottling. Hazels Vineyard reflects our commitment to regenerative farming and the pursuit of quality through responsible agriculture. Located in Forest Grove this southern Margaret River site is defi ned by free draining ironstone gravel soils a cooling maritime influence and a north-facing aspect ensuring optimal exposure to the sunlight. Sustainable farming practices have brought enhanced vitality into these soils enabling us to produce wines with exceptional texture vibrancy and site expression.

Lamb is the ultimate food match for high end Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon but also prime cuts of beef mushroom dishes hard cheese.

The wine was delivered by GSO Courier early this am and was in perfect shipping condition. The bottle temperature was cool to the touch which is amazing given we have been hitting 37C every day for the last week here in our California summer.

I have put the wine into our temperature controlled bottle storage to let them rest for a week (mostly for the 3 bottles of red). I did put one of the Rosés in the frig which we will try tomorrow because we are out to dinner tonight with friends.
Your Rose of Virginia is my favorite rosé, above French and Californians that we have consumed with Tablas Creek “Dianthus” from near Paso Robles being a second.
Now that we have experienced a shipment from you, I am sure we will order a couple of cases more but will wait until weather is cooler for us and the wine.
