Lucid View Chardonnay captures the purity and tranquillity of its elevated Adelaide Hills vineyard, perched 490 metres above sea level in Kenton Valley. Crafted with a minimalist approach, this site-driven Chardonnay showcases the clarity and character of the vineyard, balancing vibrant minerality with texture and finesse.Hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed, the wine underwent a slow, wild yeast fermentation on fine lees, creating exceptional complexity and a beautifully integrated palate. Aromas of ruby grapefruit, kaffir lime leaf and Nashi pear lead to a medium-bodied palate with creamy texture, refreshing acidity and a long, elegant finish. A refined and expressive Chardonnay to enjoy now or over the next three years.

Tasting Notes
This unique site in Kenton Valley Adelaide Hills stands tall at 490m above sea level with breathtaking views. My first feeling here was calming and my first thought was purity and clarity hence Lucid View.It speaks to the wine here too. A defined and purposeful Chardonnay showcasing a purity that respects the site. The minerality of the wine poised against texture and tension of the other components.Hand-picked to allow a 100 Whole bunch pressing. Straight to Pressing for a gentle Press with great care not to over extract. Like a firm cuddle that doesnt crush the sole. Goal- maintain the sole of the fruit meaning let it be true to itself. Like a child we should only guide them and not force things. What else did you do you might askWell not a whole a lot. Settle gross solids and rack to tank leaving on fine Lees for a Wild yeast ferment.Thats right we let it go wildWild and slow that is. This is slowest ferment I have ever had in 25 years of making wine 10 weeks. Did it matter not at all in fact it could be argued it was doing its thing and that thing was doing just right by the wine. The extended time fermenting on fine Lees has created a gorgeous integration of texture. Partial Malo to soften acid and add complexity and mouthfeel.Colour Pale StrawNose Pretty and intriguing. Ruby grapefruit and Kaffir lime leaf collide into some Nashi Pear sweetness.Palate Medium bodied weight texturally smooth and creamy with a delightful acid line holding together a soft dry powdery texture like an overnight snow fall.Cellaring potential Drink now or up to 3 years.

About Thicker Than Water Wines

Driven by our vision to capture the essence of a time and place through crafting the world’s most memorable and desirable wines, we’ve embraced change as a vital part of growth. The old idea of “if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it” no longer reflects who we are. Instead, we believe progress comes from evolving—boldly, thoughtfully, and without fear of the new. Our values are deeply rooted in family, which is why Thicker than Water became the perfect name for our reimagined brand. It reflects the way we see our customers: as part of our extended family, sharing a sense of belonging, connection, and community. We want to take people on a journey—one that shifts how they feel and lets them experience some genuinely bloody good wine along the way. Proudly family-owned and operated by Mary and John Greer, together with their children Campbell, Mark, and Laura—supported by an exceptional team—we bring over 60 years of combined industry experience to everything we do. Nestled in the heart of McLaren Vale, our estate vineyard allows us to uphold consistency, character, and authenticity in every bottle. Leading our portfolio is the Squid Ink Shiraz range, inviting wine lovers to explore three distinct expressions of Shiraz and discover the depth and diversity of this iconic varietal.

Just a quick note to say I am so glad I found Australia Tasting Room! Since leaving Australia, I have missed some of my favorite wines. I researched other freight companies, but none offered the personal touch service of Australia Tasting Room. You have a great selection from the best vineyards. You added others upon request, and also gave great recommendations when asked. And customer service does not stop with the purchase— The team keep me updated on the shipment every step of the way! I cannot imagine a better service from people who know wine and love to share that knowledge. You have a customer for life! Cheers, J Mason

The wine was delivered by GSO Courier early this am and was in perfect shipping condition. The bottle temperature was cool to the touch which is amazing given we have been hitting 37C every day for the last week here in our California summer.
Well done!
I have put the wine into our temperature controlled bottle storage to let them rest for a week (mostly for the 3 bottles of red). I did put one of the Rosés in the frig which we will try tomorrow because we are out to dinner tonight with friends.
Your Rose of Virginia is my favorite rosé, above French and Californians that we have consumed with Tablas Creek “Dianthus” from near Paso Robles being a second.
Now that we have experienced a shipment from you, I am sure we will order a couple of cases more but will wait until weather is cooler for us and the wine.
Again thanks for an excellent wine and the good service.
Cheers,
Richard A.

The wine arrived last week in good shape - nothing broken or leaked. Your packing design is impressive. Laying it down for a couple of months to settle in. Looking forward to enjoying it. Thanks very much

Australia Tasting Room is a very fine company, with professional direction and management. I appreciate the friendly service, and all your efforts above and beyond to make all deliveries happen. Most impressive were the instant answers and responses any time I had a question. All during a pandemic! Pretty amazing when you think about it.
Highest regards,
Judy M
P.S. One Contact, One Process, and One Delivery - customers and wine treated equally and expertly, with care. You really can’t beat that! Great job.
