This is followed by careful basket pressing and malolactic fermentation in a combination of new and seasoned French barriques prior to 18 months of maturation in our cellars. In keeping with our non-interventionalist winemaking style we neither fine nor filter this wine. SUITABLE FOR VEGANS AND VEGETARIANS

Reviews 96 PointsSam Kim Wine OrbitA terrific Cabernet showcasing classic varietal aromas of blackcurrant tobacco and rich floral with nuances of vanilla cedar and fennel. Its wonderfully weighted and deeply flavoured with beautifully infused chalky tannins finishing superbly long and satisfying. At its best 2027 to 2040.95 PointsRay Jordan Wine PilotThis is a quite beautiful example of Barossa cabernet. Its medium to full-bodied and quite generous but there is that cabernet structural feature that holds the line with the firmish fine tannins and neatly integrated oak. Lots of those blackcurrant dark chocolate and black olive characters speak cabernet. Its focused balanced and precisely delivered through to its long finish. Excellent wine. Cellar 20 Years94 PointsKen Gargett Wine PilotWe tend to think of the Barossa Valley as overflowing with ancient gnarly old vines but in truth they are a rare and precious commodity. Cabernet vines in excess of fifty years of age represent just 2 of the plantings in the region. Those that provided the fruit for this wine come from the Bethany sub-region. Maturation was for a period of a year and a half in a mix of new and older French oak barriques.Gleaming dark magenta in colour the nose revolves around notes of mocha cassis licorice chocolate and mulberries which are supported by aromas of tobacco leaves and plums. Good concentration and balance throughout and we see notes of black fruits and spices emerging on the palate along with some savoury touches of mushrooms and coffee grinds. Very good length here through to satiny tannins the plushness found in the texture is a highlight. Enjoy over the next ten to fifteen years.92 PointsDave Brookes Halliday Wine CompanionDeep crimson with aromas of blackberry black cherry and blackcurrant pastille with hints of fruitcake spice crushed herbs tobacco cedar dark chocolate violets licorice and earth. A swell of cassis and kirsch on the palate with superfine ripe tannins a sweep of sour cherry blackcurrant pastille and a suggestion of bitter herbs. The flavours stretch out nicely on the exit. Drink by 204090 PointsHuon Hooke The Real ReviewDeep red with a good tint of purple and slighty jammy ripeness in its aromas of squishy berries. the palate diffuse and broad and falling a bit short with some vegetable flavours coming through. The tannins are grippy and very drying on the finish. Needs time andor protein. 2026-2037
Bottle Volume 750 ML
Tasting Notes
Deep magenta with a vibrant nose of dark fruit chocolate vanilla and cinnamon aromas. An exotic and full-bodied palate driven by flavours of fruits of the forest blackcurrant and a hint of savoury spice bound together by succulent fine-grained tannins. A wine of great length that will reward many years in the cellar.

About Chateau Tanunda

Château Tanunda, Icon of the Barossa, is one of Australia’s most historically significant wineries. Established in 1890, the Château is a cornerstone of the Barossa wine industry and is the site of the Valley’s first winery, as well as its first vineyards planted back in 1843. The Geber family are custodians of a proud winemaking tradition spanning three centuries. They have put their heart, soul and passion into handcrafting some of the Barossa’s most collectable wines since 1998. The majestic bluestone winery and vineyards are a living testament to the colourful history and pioneering spirit of Australia’s most famous wine region.

Just a quick note to say I am so glad I found Australia Tasting Room! Since leaving Australia, I have missed some of my favorite wines. I researched other freight companies, but none offered the personal touch service of Australia Tasting Room. You have a great selection from the best vineyards. You added others upon request, and also gave great recommendations when asked. And customer service does not stop with the purchase— The team keep me updated on the shipment every step of the way! I cannot imagine a better service from people who know wine and love to share that knowledge. You have a customer for life! Cheers, J Mason

The wine was delivered by GSO Courier early this am and was in perfect shipping condition. The bottle temperature was cool to the touch which is amazing given we have been hitting 37C every day for the last week here in our California summer.
Well done!
I have put the wine into our temperature controlled bottle storage to let them rest for a week (mostly for the 3 bottles of red). I did put one of the Rosés in the frig which we will try tomorrow because we are out to dinner tonight with friends.
Your Rose of Virginia is my favorite rosé, above French and Californians that we have consumed with Tablas Creek “Dianthus” from near Paso Robles being a second.
Now that we have experienced a shipment from you, I am sure we will order a couple of cases more but will wait until weather is cooler for us and the wine.
Again thanks for an excellent wine and the good service.
Cheers,
Richard A.

The wine arrived last week in good shape - nothing broken or leaked. Your packing design is impressive. Laying it down for a couple of months to settle in. Looking forward to enjoying it. Thanks very much

Australia Tasting Room is a very fine company, with professional direction and management. I appreciate the friendly service, and all your efforts above and beyond to make all deliveries happen. Most impressive were the instant answers and responses any time I had a question. All during a pandemic! Pretty amazing when you think about it.
Highest regards,
Judy M
P.S. One Contact, One Process, and One Delivery - customers and wine treated equally and expertly, with care. You really can’t beat that! Great job.

Thank you again for your expedited attention to our order and its shipping. The wine has arrived in wonderful condition, and we shared a bottle with one of our friends on Friday who enjoyed it as much as we did.
