Reviews 95 Points GOLDHalliday Wine Companion Marcus EllisThis was fermented beginning as whole berries then plunged over about 10 days and mostly matured in tank. The expressiveness of site and vintage is evident even at this early-bottled stage if perhaps a tad shy presently. This is the palest and prettiest of the single-vineyard trio with wild raspberry redcurrant sour cherry cranberry a hint of rose and dried orange peel the feel engagingly savoury and refined cinched by fine skinsy tannins chewy sandy and pithy. This expands beautifully with air and promises to be singing on release.96 Points The Australian Nick RyanPlanted in 1922 on red clay loams over shale and ironstone. Darker fruit profile but without density. Assured poised and intricately structured. Dark cherry rubbed rosemary a seam of spice. Its a beautiful framework with the temptation to over-decorate through winemaking resisted.95 Points The Wine Front Gary Walsh1922 plantings here.Blackberry red fruit some liquorice exotic spice Earl Grey tea dried rose smells a bit stony too. Medium-bodied dark red berries dense tight tannin quite stony and minerally in feel juicy orange and cranberry acidity ferrous and long to finish. Very good. Expressive and kind of fine-boned in a way and comes over more than a little like Nebbiolo. Give it a year or two more in bottle Id say.95 Points The Real Review Huon HookeMedium-deep red-purple colour with a bouquet that embraces peppermint eucalyptus raspberry and blackberry. In the mouth it is big and strongly constituted with a deep core of sweet raspberryblack cherry fruit underscored by freshening acidity and supple ripely rounded tannins. Powerful wine with deep-set flavour and focused emphatic tannins that persist long on the aftertaste. A very impressive young grenache that treads a fine line between sweetripe opulence and stern tightly coiled structure. The finish is savoury dry authoritative a serious grenache indeed.

About Willunga100

Here at Willunga 100, we take great pride in our award-winning McLaren Vale wines. Our small and passionate team have created an exciting and vibrant range that truly showcases the magic of our region. Before our first vintage in 2005, we explored the region and came across plots of 50-year-old Grenache vines. At the time, most Grenache was destined for blending. We decided this had to change, so we made these vines our focus and gave them the attention they deserved. McLaren Vale has great geological diversity from sub-region to sub-region, and the soils are among the oldest in the world estimated at over 500 million years. This, along with the mediterranean climate and old vines, combine to produce low yields and stunning, concentrated fruit. Where do we get our name? We take our name from the historic ‘Hundred’ of Willunga that was established in 1839, only three years after the settlement of South Australia. At the time, 100 households were needed to occupy an area in order to qualify for a place on the map, this was called a ‘Hundred’. Today, the Hundred of Willunga is where our Grenache Room tasting room and Blind Spot Vineyard are located.

Just a quick note to say I am so glad I found Australia Tasting Room! Since leaving Australia, I have missed some of my favorite wines. I researched other freight companies, but none offered the personal touch service of Australia Tasting Room. You have a great selection from the best vineyards. You added others upon request, and also gave great recommendations when asked. And customer service does not stop with the purchase— The team keep me updated on the shipment every step of the way! I cannot imagine a better service from people who know wine and love to share that knowledge. You have a customer for life! Cheers, J Mason

The wine was delivered by GSO Courier early this am and was in perfect shipping condition. The bottle temperature was cool to the touch which is amazing given we have been hitting 37C every day for the last week here in our California summer.
Well done!
I have put the wine into our temperature controlled bottle storage to let them rest for a week (mostly for the 3 bottles of red). I did put one of the Rosés in the frig which we will try tomorrow because we are out to dinner tonight with friends.
Your Rose of Virginia is my favorite rosé, above French and Californians that we have consumed with Tablas Creek “Dianthus” from near Paso Robles being a second.
Now that we have experienced a shipment from you, I am sure we will order a couple of cases more but will wait until weather is cooler for us and the wine.
Again thanks for an excellent wine and the good service.
Cheers,
Richard A.

The wine arrived last week in good shape - nothing broken or leaked. Your packing design is impressive. Laying it down for a couple of months to settle in. Looking forward to enjoying it. Thanks very much

Australia Tasting Room is a very fine company, with professional direction and management. I appreciate the friendly service, and all your efforts above and beyond to make all deliveries happen. Most impressive were the instant answers and responses any time I had a question. All during a pandemic! Pretty amazing when you think about it.
Highest regards,

P.S. One Contact, One Process, and One Delivery - customers and wine treated equally and expertly, with care. You really can’t beat that! Great job.
