The 2024 Coldstream Viognier Marsanne is an elegant white blend sourced from a young vineyard planted in Coldstream Yarra Valley in 2021. The fruit was 100 handpicked and whole bunch pressed. The wine achieved its rich creamy texture through initial fermentation and maturation in aged French oak barrels for three months. Following blending it was further matured in stainless steel for six months to maintain freshness and purity before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. The final wine is rich balanced and complex

Tasting Notes
The wine presents a brilliant pale gold colour. It greets the nose with enticing aromas of apricot honeysuckle and white peach complemented by subtle hints of almond and orange blossom. The palate is rich yet beautifully balanced featuring layers of ripe stone fruit a whisper of ginger spice and a creamy texture derived from the partial barrel fermentation. The finish is long and rounded concluding with a delicate touch of minerality.
Winemakers Notes
100 handpicked on 27 February 2023. Whole bunch vacuum bladder pressed with settling overnight. Fermented and Matured in aged French oak barrels over 3 months. Blended and matured in stainless tank for a further 6 months. 260 doz bottled 02 December 2024. Unfined and unfiltered.Additional Context Sourced from the Coldstream vineyard 120m above sea level North-South aspect sedimentary sandstone over bedrock planted in Spring 2021.

The wine was delivered by GSO Courier early this am and was in perfect shipping condition. The bottle temperature was cool to the touch which is amazing given we have been hitting 37C every day for the last week here in our California summer.

I have put the wine into our temperature controlled bottle storage to let them rest for a week (mostly for the 3 bottles of red). I did put one of the Rosés in the frig which we will try tomorrow because we are out to dinner tonight with friends.
Your Rose of Virginia is my favorite rosé, above French and Californians that we have consumed with Tablas Creek “Dianthus” from near Paso Robles being a second.
Now that we have experienced a shipment from you, I am sure we will order a couple of cases more but will wait until weather is cooler for us and the wine.
