In 1980 Dr Michael Peterkin planted a 1.5 acre plot of chenin blanc which has now grown into lovely old vines yielding small amounts of delicious grapes. Each passing year Dr Peterkin thought to himself' I should make a special wine from these vines' Nunc Tempus Est - Now is the time.

Green apple lots of spice and gravel characters thistles citrus woodsmoke and green mango. Its a powerful wine sure-footed textural and charismatic. Its enough to turn you onto chenin. Indeed its enough to make you want to cellar it. This is a wine of clear excellence.94 Campbell Mattinson The Wine Front 2023 Pierro Chenin Blanc Nunc Tempus Est This is a chenin that lets the guys in the Swan Valley know they dont have it all their way with this variety. The season was kind and its resulted in a thoroughly beautiful example. It doesnt have the obvious tropical fruits of some chenins but it still shows fine citrus light melon and apple characters that capture the variety perfectly. Theres almost a delicacy about this which is as much about the season as it is about the grape. Its a cracking wine and thoroughly enjoyable.95 Points - Ray Jordan 2023 Pierro Chenin Blanc Nunc Tempus Est The 2023 Chenin Nunc Tempus Est leads with a varietal nose of green apple stewed and sweet white flowers beeswax and silex. In the mouth the wine is firm and structured with intense flavor and gentle grippy phenolics through the finish. The wine was delivered by GSO Courier early this am and was in perfect shipping condition. The bottle temperature was cool to the touch which is amazing given we have been hitting 37C every day for the last week here in our California summer.

I have put the wine into our temperature controlled bottle storage to let them rest for a week (mostly for the 3 bottles of red). I did put one of the Rosés in the frig which we will try tomorrow because we are out to dinner tonight with friends.
Your Rose of Virginia is my favorite rosé, above French and Californians that we have consumed with Tablas Creek “Dianthus” from near Paso Robles being a second.
Now that we have experienced a shipment from you, I am sure we will order a couple of cases more but will wait until weather is cooler for us and the wine.
