This 2021 Shiraz is firm and black, with dense but fine tannins and a core of vibrant, spicy fruit. The wine has a lovely suppleness and immediacy with layers of red and black fruits, dark chocolate and fine tannins. Secondary layers of development are beginning to add to the softening and complexity of the palate and augur well for a long future.

A blend of the estates three best blocks of shiraz Centre Railway Rock that brings some serious cred to the glass. Winemakers Notes
The 2021 growing season provided warm clear growing conditions leading up to harvest for our Estate Shiraz which was picked in excellent condition. Traditional techniques were utilised and included open vat fermentation with regular hand plunging pumping over and barrel fermentation.The wine was aged in a combination of 225L 300l and 500L barrels - 90 French with 5 American and 5 Hungarian to provide balance of spice and fine grained tannins. 8 months barrel aging occured prior to bottling.

The wine was delivered by GSO Courier early this am and was in perfect shipping condition. The bottle temperature was cool to the touch which is amazing given we have been hitting 37C every day for the last week here in our California summer.

I have put the wine into our temperature controlled bottle storage to let them rest for a week (mostly for the 3 bottles of red). I did put one of the Rosés in the frig which we will try tomorrow because we are out to dinner tonight with friends.
Your Rose of Virginia is my favorite rosé, above French and Californians that we have consumed with Tablas Creek “Dianthus” from near Paso Robles being a second.
Now that we have experienced a shipment from you, I am sure we will order a couple of cases more but will wait until weather is cooler for us and the wine.
