Sagrantino is bold and brooding, with some of the highest tannins in the wine world. Hailing from Umbria and now cultivated in Australia’s Riverland, it reveals layers of blackberry, dried fig, dark chocolate and cigar box. A rare varietal with ageing potential and real gravitas.
Food Pairing
Best with rich, slow cooked fare like pork belly with crackling, lamb shoulder with pomegranate glaze, or duck cassoulet. Holds up beautifully to intense flavours and spiced rubs.
